The Company was registered as Négociations Algorithmiques CP & DP Ltée. in the Province of Quebec on June 22nd 2018.
Our Activities
CP & DP Algorithmic Trading Ltd is a financial trading firm. We work primarily in short-term and ultra short-term investments on the financial markets. However, what we do is not High Frequency Trading. Our investment cycles follow an algorithmic process operated by robots that scan the market conditions in real time.
The company is not a mutual fund firm. Furthermore, it does not offer financial services, whether in terms of investment consultation or portfolio management.
Code of Ethics
We adhere to the principle of ethical investing in all our choices of financial instruments. However, since our strategies are aligned more on the mechanical aspect of the markets, we believe it is important to add a more adapted code of ethics that can be summarized as follows:
1- We understand that the Financial Market is the structure that supports the global economy;
2- By acting in the Financial Market, our company is aware of its responsibility to preserve it;
3- Thus, our trading strategies are not based on the manipulation of prices. Therefore, we work exclusively with predictive algorithms that intrinsically cannot cause flash crashes.
History
It all began in the mid 2000s, when Herizo Razafimahefa decided to grab a newspaper that was about to be thrown away. He could never have imagined that what he was about to do would change the course of his life. In fact, nothing could have predicted that this trained scientist would find himself interested in High Finance. Then, he read an article on Stock Market Investment in that newspaper. Prompted by this article, he remembered having purchased a book in the 60s for 25 cents from a church fund raiser. And it was this book, tucked away deep in a drawer, that would become his first introductory textbook on financial markets.
Herizo acknowledges that he developed his skills in a context that allowed him to take a very specific path. Having already been involved in time series modeling as part of his Doctorate research, he forged a rich experience in the design and coding of calculation algorithms. Nearing the end of the 2000s, he envisioned combining his two passions: algorithms and Finance. He then challenged himself. In the beginning the challenge was to create a source of household income, but it would quickly become his life's work. It consisted of creating a financial trading algorithm that would eventually spearhead the company that he would later go on to found.
The idea to implement the durable operational framework began to take root in the middle of the 2010s, after a succession of events that shocked his family. This is how CP & DP Algorithmic Trading Ltd came together in 2018, like the pieces of an elaborate puzzle.
Why CP & DP?
The acronym CP & DP stands for "Cinq Pains et Deux Poissons", or "Five loaves of bread and two fish" in English. It refers to a story from the dawn of our era taken from the life story of a Man who influenced his generation by his actions and moving words.
According to the manuscripts one day in the ancient city of Bethsaida of Galilee this Man named Yeshua, known in our times as Jesus of Nazareth, managed to feed a starved and weakened crowd of five thousand men not counting the women and children, with a mere Five Loaves of Bread and Two Fish. The witnesses confirmed that in the end there were twelve baskets full of food remaining.
In the eyes of an investor, this is the greatest return in all of history. Our name is above all a reminder of our company's modest origins. It also translates our founding values, which are Faith and the sense of social responsibility.
